On December 15, 2022, we headed to VA from TX, in our 2014 MKT; for a family holiday. Nearing Malvern Exits, we noticed the vehicle hesitated, lost power, jerked and shook aggressively, fuel consumption was more than usual, and the check engine light was on. Smart Ford read the codes suggesting, even though the codes showed cam position sensors were faulty, that because of staffing shortages, we should try Crain Ford in Little Rock. Crain advised the codes should not disable auto, but were unable to work us into their shop until after the holidays, being safe to drive, we continued toward VA. When we were approximately 1 mile from AR IH-40E, exit 278, our MKT shook violently, jerked, speeded-up again; our confidence in our transportation was gone. It was late Friday. Doing a quick search for Ford/Lincoln service centers who showed to be open on Saturday, we located AutoNation, Ford in Memphis. We remained over-night in a West Memphis motel room, so that early Saturday morning could drive to AN, Ford. Ashley Jones, Asst Svc Mgr., greeted us. Using previous service encountered invoice comments, plus her knowledge, she performed a triage. Ashley, was extremely efficient, she is caring and personable and quickly set our minds at-ease by offering to induct our auto into AN, Ford service schedule, if we could get a rental. We agreed. Ashley kept us full apprised during the repair progress. She informed us the repair ? replacing cam sensors - was completed, and arranged for us to pick-up our repaired vehicle. Arriving back at AN, Ford, the MKT was ready, and our Invoice 646556, Tag 06202, cost less than her initial estimate! Kudos to Ashley, we believe as a 5-Star, AN, Ford employee she has earned AN, Ford?s written and cash recognition.
